Presentation of the «Manifiesto sobre Arte y Libertad/Aforismos» and Exhibition of the original drawings at the LAB 36 Gallery in Barcelona

The book Manifiesto sobre Arte y Libertad/Aforismos is part of the artist’s intellectual legacy, and the place where his reflections on art and life are condensed, both inseparable for him, with great insight and honesty.

The presentation of the book took place on the day of the inauguration, on April 27, 2023, and was carried out by the poet and writer Àlex Susanna, who highlighted the link between the artist’s reflections and his plastic work, which combine rotundity and freshness.

In the LAB 36 exhibition, the 42 original drawings, reproduced in the book, were in display, as well as 3 of his large-format works from the Sediments series (Holy Family, Pearly Sun, The birds of María del Mar), and the screening of the documentary Winter Journey (Adiós), directed by Anna Sanmartí, about the artistic and vital trajectory of Mateo Vilagrasa.
